The Alice & Charles Taylor Scholar-Athlete LEAD Scholarship - 2026

2026 Application Note: The 2026 scholarship cycle is for senior student-athletes in schools located in Idaho’s District III or District IV. Select students from Mountain Home High School will continue to be awarded every year, and the scholarship begins expanding statewide in 2026 with a three-year rollout by region.

Eligibility and Rules

The Alice & Charles Taylor Scholar-Athlete LEAD Scholarship Award will recognize several senior scholar-athletes at schools located in Idaho District III and Idaho District IV as well as at least two (2) Mountain Home High School senior scholar-athletes (at least one female & one male recipient) who exemplify the traits that Alice & Charles exhibited and encouraged. Recipients will receive the awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000. Nominations can be submitted by teachers, coaches, administrators, or the scholar-athletes themselves.

To be considered, student-athletes must illustrate ways in which they LEAD in all aspects of their lives. LEAD stands for:

  • Leadership

  • Educational Excellence

  • Athletic Achievement

  • Distinguished Community Service

Nominated students much also meet the following standards:

  • Currently enrolled at Mountain Home High School (Idaho) and/or eligible high schools in District III or District IV (Idaho)

  • On track to graduate this academic year

  • Earning a minimum of a 3.5 Cumulative GPA

  • Participating in two (2) or more sports during high school career (we encourage students not to specialize in only one sport at this stage of their lives)

  • Volunteering for community service projects in the local community

  • Planning to enroll full-time in a bachelor's program at an accredited post-secondary institution or trade school in the upcoming fall

  • Exhibiting financial need (will be taken into consideration)

Application Requirements

Students interested in applying for The Alice & Charles Taylor Scholar-Athlete LEAD Scholarship must complete all three of the following requirements by the deadline in order to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Online Scholarship Application Form

  • Virtual Video Interview

  • Statement of Recommendation* by at least two references

    • *Recommendations must be submitted by at least 1 coach AND at least 1 teacher (Must be completed by the coach and teacher. Therefore, we recommend that each student share the Statement of Recommendation link with their coach/teacher.)

The online application process will open on February 2, 2026. A link will be posted on The Taylor LEAD Foundation website at that time.

The Scholarship Committee will take all of the submitted information into consideration to determine the final scholarship award recipient(s). Once the selection process is completed and validated, all monies for the scholarship will be issued to the appropriate contact at Mountain Home High School.

DEADLINE

The application deadline is 11:59pm MT on April 10, 2026. A complete application (including each of the “Application Requirements” outlined above) must be submitted on or before the deadline to be considered (only complete submissions will be reviewed by the committee).
