Where the work actually happens.
A board that meets quarterly only learns things quarterly. Seven standing committees carry this Foundation between those meetings — and most of them have seats open right now, including several that do not require you to know anyone here.
Volunteer for one night at the Change Make*Hers Gala. February 10, no commitment past the evening.
Take a committee seat. Real work, a real vote in how a program runs, roughly monthly.
Chair one. Set the agenda, carry the work, report to the board.
Board service. Most of our directors were doing the work long before anyone offered them a seat.
The seven
Open one. Every committee says what it does and who it needs.
Executive and Governance are internal and seated from the board. The other five are open, and the seat counts below are current rather than aspirational — if it says nine seats, there are nine.
Executive Committee Acts for the board between meetings, and only when it has to.

Who we’re looking for
- A CPA, controller or CFO — someone fluent in nonprofit financial statements
- Audit or Form 990 experience
- Anyone who has built a budget for an organization growing faster than its systems

Who we’re looking for
- Teachers, counselors, coaches and principals — people who know what it costs a student to carry all of this at once
- Anyone who has sat on a selection panel and taken it seriously
- Former scholar-athletes, at any level
This work is seasonal, roughly January through May, but it is not a general-interest seat — reading applications well takes a particular kind of judgment, and we recruit for it deliberately.
Programs Committee Owns what actually reaches girls — camps, clinics, IX Grants, the Circuit.

Beyond the committees
Two more bodies, and neither is a committee.
Both advise the Foundation and report to the board. Both are seated differently from the seven above, which is why they sit here rather than in the list.
LEAD Fellows
An advisory body of eight to twelve scholar-athlete leaders in college and early career, drawn from more than a decade of LEAD Scholars. Nomination only, appointed by the board, reporting to the Programs Committee and the governing body.
Fellows are not volunteers and this is not a committee seat — it is a term appointment with its own tiers and its own arc.
Advisory Board
A group of people whose counsel we want without asking them to take on fiduciary duty — sport, education, finance, and Idaho itself. Being formed now.
If you have been wondering how to be useful here without joining a monthly meeting, this is likely the answer.

You do not need to know anybody here.
Nearly every person on this page arrived through somebody they knew, and we would rather that stopped being the only route in. Tell us what you are good at and how much time you actually have — being honest about the second part is more useful to us than being generous about it.

Start with one night in February.
The Change Make*Hers Gala took fifty volunteers to run last year, and it is the single easiest way to find out whether this is your kind of organization. You will be in a room with three hundred people who care about the same thing, you will see exactly what the money does, and you can go home at the end of the night owing us nothing.
A good number of the people on this page started exactly there.
